ORIC reporting, governance and recovery
We prepare the annual reports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations must lodge under the CATSI Act. Most firms stop there. We also do the harder work around them: grant acquittals that stand up, board reporting a non-accountant can act on, and getting a corporation steady again after it has come off the rails.
Reports already overdue?
Late lodgement is common and it is fixable. Tell us your corporation’s name and we will check the public register and tell you what is outstanding — before you commit to anything.
What we do
Governance, CFO and recovery
Board-ready reporting, governance support, and getting a corporation back on its feet — from an adviser who has led a CATSI corporation through a governance and operational recovery.
Grants and acquittals
Several funders, different conditions, acquittal dates that do not line up with your financial year. It is the messiest part of the job and the part we are strongest at.
Annual reporting
General, financial and directors’ reports prepared and lodged on time, with your auditor’s queries handled for you.
PBCs and native title
Reporting for prescribed bodies corporate, and accounting for native title money that common law holders can actually follow.
Your accountant. Never your auditor.
We do not audit. Subdivision 339-D of the CATSI Act requires your auditor to be independent of whoever prepared the accounts, and we prepare the accounts. So your auditor will always be a different firm from us.
What we do is find you an auditor and then run the audit for you: we introduce you to firms that can act at your corporation’s tier, prepare everything they ask for, and answer their questions directly. We take no referral fee.
Many boards are told they need a registered company auditor. Below $5 million a wider group is permitted, and for a board that has been searching for months that is often the difference between finding an auditor and not.

Frequently asked questions
What reports does our corporation have to lodge each year?
Corporations registered under the CATSI Act lodge a general report, a financial report, a directors’ report and an audit report each year, though which of these apply depends on your corporation’s registered size and income. Reports are due within six months of the end of your reporting period — for a 30 June year end, that is 31 December. We can confirm exactly what your corporation owes and prepare it.
Do you audit corporations as well?
No — we are your accountant, and your auditor is always a different firm. Independence is required under subdivision 339-D of the CATSI Act, and an accountant cannot give an independent opinion on their own work. What we do instead is help you find an auditor who can act for your corporation, and then run the audit process for you. We take no referral fee for the introduction.
Our reports are already overdue. Is it too late?
No. Late lodgement is common and it is fixable. The important thing is to start, because the register of corporations that have not lodged is public and the position does not improve on its own. Talk to us about what is outstanding and we will tell you plainly what it takes to bring the corporation back up to date.
Are you part of ORIC?
No. We are an independent accounting firm and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations or the Commonwealth. ORIC is the regulator; we are the accountants a corporation engages to prepare its reports.
Do you work with corporations outside your own state?
Yes. Most of this work is done remotely. We work with corporations across Australia, including in remote communities, using cloud accounting and video meetings.
